ACI Infotech helps a USA Bank to improve its Business Intelligence Reporting with SAP Objects, providing actionable insights to the leadership team​

Challenges

  • The client lacked a proper intelligence business reporting system and faced difficulties to launch marketing campaigns and to track and monitor their performance to ensure timely intervention. The data collection that was imperative to launch and manage campaigns was a tedious exercise, where in the top management had faced the difficulties to get quick and reliable MIS reports.
  • The team that was involved to prepare these reports had to collate the information from multiple source systems manually, which had led to data discrepancies and inconsistencies.

Business Problems

  • Moreover, the top executives of the bank had also realized that using transactional systems for querying and reporting was not the solution and hence they were looking for good Business Intelligence (BI) solution to address the above issues
  • The client, after careful evaluation and assessment, had selected ACI Infotech to take this initiative forward. Based on our mutual understanding, we have decided to implement SAP Business Objects solution at the bank 

Our Solution/ Approach

  • The objective of the project was to design, develop and implement reports across all systems of the bank using SAP Business Objects 

The brief scope of the project included:

  • Creation of various GL reports for multiple GL users (3000 users) with in the bank
  • Creation of Monthly Account Statements for expenses incurred in various GL accounts 
  • Creation of Storyboards using SAP Lumira 1.28 from different sources like Excel, Universes and FreeHand SQL
  • Deployment of Lumira Dashboards/ Storyboards for desktop, tablet and mobile users
  • Classification of expenses into various GL reports and reporting the same to business managers, departmental heads and account managers
  • Creation of Account Payable, Cash In, Cash Out reports, Account Receivables and Cost Account Information
  • Creation of various charts on income and expenditure from various sources
  • Creation of applications/ Dashboards using Design Studio 1.6 as part of SAP BI 4.1 upgrade
  • Development of Bank User Login Dashboards via Design Studio 1.6 and several other dashboards as per the users’ requirements
  • Creation of Dashboards with hierarchy, scoreboards, custom measures, top N clients, cross tabs and global filters
  • With the above implementation, the system had provided integrated reporting over 15 business application systems from a Business Objects universe, utilizing DDW (Dimensional Data Warehouse) as its source
